This post is brought to you by...

Arcadia and I have been running around sl like headless chickens. We're still moving poses and getting the work room put together, but our most recent concern has been keeping you all up to date about the changes at the studio and most importantly, the upcoming Midsummer party.

In honor of the event, .::Wishbox::. has offered to sponsor this month's party!!! Which means for all you lucky attendees that there will be a nice, fat gift card waiting in a prize ball for you to win it. Wishbox is a purveyer of fabulous winged finery as well as period and costume style clothing and acessories. Wishbox's attention to detail and innovative textures made it my choice when I was purchasing a Midsummer party. It was lucky happenstance that they offered to give out the Midsummer prize! The Midsummer party picture of Arcadia and I displays her Water fairy costume. The delicate glowy wings and waterful design make this costume a real eye catcher. But what sold me on this fabulously seductive costume were the subtle shadings on the chest, arms, belly, and back that shaded my skin. Having tried this costume with multiple skins, it complimented them all beautifully. This sort of versatility sells me every time.

Whatch Arcadia's Fashion 360° blog for a more thorough and better written review. :)

And on that note, I hope to see you all at the party, June 21st at 6 p.m. slt. You never know what other fun prizes are in store for you.

Subsequently, this will be the last post at blogspot. Join us over at wordpress to get all the most current updates and post-party pics.

Changing of the Guards

As they say, the only thing that remains the same is change. CHANGE has come to MDR Photo Studio once again. And as with any change, the ripple effect sometimes feels exponential. For those of you who missed out on the farewell to Cajsa and Maht party this past May, it may come as a surprise to know that MDR’s founders have retired at present from the photography business. While Cajsa no longer works at MDR, she has continued with her blog. Maht is DJing at the Velvet club every Sunday in his dotage just to keep an eye on the goings on of this virtual world. In their graciousness, Cajsa and Maht have allowed fellow sr. photographer Arcadia Nightfire and I to take over the studio and its operations.

As if that wasn’t enough change, MDR has moved locations AGAIN! This move, however, only pushed us up in the air instead of to a completely new sim. Make sure you visit our new sky studio. Unfortunately, the move has cost us a considerable amount of prim space, and we have been forced to close the public studio at this time.

Not only has the in-world location changed for the studio, but co-owner Arcadia Nightfire and I have decided to move the blog as well. We’re not going far—just over to wordpress where many bloggers seem to be migrating these days. With any luck, this will help you all find us instead of throw you off our scent. ;) Here’s a direct link to get you started: http://mdrstudio.wordpress.com/

In light of all this, we thought it was high time for a party. The weather’s getting warmer, pools are open, and, believe it or not, Midsummer is just around the corner! We’ve dusted off our fairy wings and hope that you will join us to dance to electronica and new wave hits designed to shake fairy dust all over the studio. DJ will be rocking the house under the disco ball. So shimmy into your best fae interpretation and flaunt it at MDR Photo Studio June 21st at 6 p.m. SLT.

About MDR Photo Studio

MDR Photo Studio was founded by Maht Wuyts and Cajsa Lilliehook in November 2007. Since then, we have grown adding a partner, Rhodesy Durant. We also have added an associate, Arcadia Nightfire to help with events, managing our Flickr pages and with customer service.

The guiding aesthetic to our work is to shoot in-world photos that need little to no post-processing. We want our photos to be Second Life photos, not PhotoShop photos. Great care is taken with lighting and framing in order to ensure that the photos shot in-world need merely some cropping and light adjustments.
